4th WSTC 2024 (Fee Waved) – Rules & Regulations

 

    1. WSTC 2024 is open to all students/adults/storytellers around the world.

    2. Participant should register on the WSTC website: www.worldstorytellingchampionship.com
    3. There will be a nominal registration fee for the championship. The fee paid is non-refundable. The nominal registration fee for 2024 is waved!

    4. This is an individual championship. Team/Group videos will not be considered and will be disqualified.

    5. WSTC 2024 is open for age groups 3 to 18 and an open category for ages 19 & above. Participants must register according to their age category to avoid any disqualification from the championship.  

    6. In order to upload the video, the registration form must be complete in all aspects.  

    7. On registration, participants will be sent a detailed information brochure via mail / WhatsApp on the exact procedure for the preliminary rounds and thereafter, on selection for the other rounds of the championship.

COMPETITION SEQUENCE 

 

    1. Storytelling championship consists of knockout rounds  

 

    • Top 5 in each category will proceed to the Finals 

 

    • Grand Finale  

SUBMISSION RULES 

 

    1. All entries must either be submitted in English or, if in another language, include English translation.  

    1. All entries must be submitted in audio video format.  

    1. Entries may be submitted through our website starting from 15th Aug 2024 and submissions will close on 15st Dec 2024, 5.00 pm (IST) 

    1. The length of the video should not exceed 90 seconds. 

    1. All videos should be uploaded on the website on the given topic in MP4 format only. The file name of the video should be saved as: Name of the participant age Category Country name. E.g. (Annie_14yrs_13-15_Germany)  

    1. All entries should begin with a 5 second full-screen introduction video that includes the following information:   

•  Presenter / Storyteller’s Name  
•  School name  
•  School city, state/country  
•  Title of the Story   
•  Total Duration (including the 5 second introduction screen)  

JUDGEMENT: 

 

    1. The championship will be judged by an international panel of judges who are professional 

story tellers.  

 

    1. The judge’s decision will be final and binding and No challenge or contest of any kind against the results will be entertained.

    1. Participants must agree to be bound by the official contest rules and decisions of the judges.   

PROCESSING OF PAYMENT  (*Free For 2024)

 

    1. All payments related to the Registrations are processed by our third-party payment processors. The Payment Processors are solely responsible for handling your payments. You agree not to hold us liable for payments that do not reach us because you have quoted incorrect payment information, or the Payment Processors refused the payment for any other reason. Please note that the Payment Processors may collect from you some personal data, which will allow them to make the payments requested by you (e.g., your name and credit card details). The Payment Processors handle all the steps in the payment process on their websites, including data collection and data processing. We do not store your credit card details in our systems. 

REFUNDS OR RETURN POLICY 

 

    1. Once you have registered successfully with payments, you will not be able to ask for a refund or return of any kind. In case of multiple payment by mistake, then excess payment shall be taken into consideration by the organizing committee against request made via email to admin@acenovation.com along with proof of both payments. 

CANCELLATION POLICY 

 

    1. Participants must provide true, accurate and complete registration information and, in case any incorrect/fraudulent information is found, the participant will be disqualified. 

    1. If the registration fee is found unpaid, the participant will be disqualified. 

    1. Participants must adhere to the ‘Registration Rules’ and ‘Submission Rules’ as stated above, or the participant will be disqualified. 

GENERAL RULES 

 

    1. Stories presented can be authentic, adapted or originally written. Video should be original, creative, and unique. Video should be well planned with smooth transition and edits. All information presented in the video must be cited, giving credit to the original source.  

    1. No copyrighted materials (music, images, video clips, etc.) should be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the material for this contest. Written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyrighted materials.  

    1. Content of the video must not touch upon sensitive issues such as race, religion, stereotyping, politics nor invade the privacy of any person. It must not promote illegal behavior, advocate sexual or violent exploitation, or violate rights established by any law or agreement. Participants should keep at least one copy of their video. ACEnovation is not responsible for any videos that are lost, damaged, or that do not upload properly.  

    1. Winners will be notified via e-mail or WhatsApp after each round and the Grand Finale will be conducted live.  

    1. The final competition will be held Online. Therefore, the participants should make sure that the supporting equipment and devices are available.  

    1. ACEnovation and all its employees will not be held responsible against all claims and liability arising out of use of such prizes. Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused from participation in the contest or use/redemption of any prize.  

OTHER RULES 

 

    1. Employees and immediate families of ACEnovation & WSTC Body are  prohibited from participating in this championship. If found participating without any approval will be disqualified immediately.  

    1. Championship will be conducted within the boundary of local, state, and federal laws of the respective countries  

    1. As a participant, your participation in the World Storytelling Championship is subject to the applicable fees solely decided by us.

 

    1. All participants will be given the ‘Certificate of Participation’ which will be made downloadable once ready and a link will be sent to participants.  

    1. Prizes will be shipped anywhere in the world, if shipping costs don’t exceed the total value of the prize, ACEnovation will work with recipients to see how best the prizes can be delivered.  

    1. ACEnovation reserves the right to substitute any prize not grantable for another prize of equal value.  

    1. ACEnovation has the right to change rules for specific contests at any point in time, without written or verbal notice.  

    1. By accepting a prize, winner releases ACEnovation and its promotional partners from any liability resulting from injury during use of said prize. Winners of prizes be it cash or in kind are subject to taxes in the respective country laws. All prizes are nontransferable unless otherwise specified. 

PRIVACY POLICY 

 

    1. ACEnovation understands that privacy is an important subject of concern. The following information is designed to help you understand what information we gather from our participants, and how we handle the information once we gather it. 

 

    1. ACEnovation collects personal information such as your full name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, ID number, story video uploads, personal feedback etc. only in order to testify your true identification. When we collect this information from you, it is because you voluntarily submit the information to us in order to register for the World Storytelling Championship, in connection with content or suggestions you submit to us or because you want us to furnish you with any of our services. We may also obtain Personal Information from third parties. 

    1. Participants will grant ACEnovation the right to use their names, photographs, statements, quotes, testimonials and video submissions for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes without notification or further compensation. 

 

    1. All winners, names, likeness, and voice may be used by the ACEnovation Hub Pte Ltd, its related Companies, Organizations & WSTC marketing Channels, contest sponsors and prize suppliers for publicity purposes.  

    1. We use your personal data solely to enable you to participate in the World Storytelling Championship, provide our Services, maintain the Website, conduct research about our business activities, administrative purposes, and to reply to your enquiries. 

    1. Your personal data may be held by us on computer systems including email, servers, hard drives and applications. We will store your personal data in our systems only for as long as such personal data is required for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. After your personal data is no longer necessary for its purposes and there is no other legal basis for storing it (e.g., we are not obliged by law to store your personal data), we will immediately delete your personal data from our systems. 

    1. Although no method of storage is 100% secure, we attempt to use various reasonable organizational and technical security measures, such as limited access to your personal data by our staff, and anonymization of personal data (when possible) to maintain the safety of your data and to protect it against any unauthorized access, loss or misuse. 

 

    1. Please also be aware that we may use third-party service providers that provide hosting, data storage and other services (our data processors). These service providers have informed us that they apply security measures they consider adequate for the protection of information within their systems. We will not be liable for any damages that may result from the misuse of any information, including your personal data, by third parties. 

    1. This Privacy Policy is subject to amendment from time to time. We encourage you to review our Privacy Policy regularly to stay informed. Your continued use of our website or services constitutes your acceptance of any amendment.  

 

    1. All participants will be awarded participatory certificates. Championship winners will be awarded a Certificate of Merit. WSTC registration is open for the following categories:
